Forgive me in advance fellow members, but I have some questions regarding featureless rifles in CA as I am looking to purchase one...
Are the featureless aspects permanent? That is to say, are these features only required for the sale? If I buy a featureless rifle and replace the grip or remove the fin, un-pin the stock, and bring it to the range, is this illegal? (I ask because a friend who is by no means any sort of authority told me these features are only required for the transfer of the rifle, similar to how BB and airsoft guns need to have an orange tipped barrel to be sold, but it can be removed by the owner)
Next question- rifles with bullet buttons installed need to be made featureless or have the magazine lock installed prior to a sale, correct? I can't just buy a rifle that only has a bullet button?
Have any "work arounds" been created yet regarding the lower receiver needing to be separated from the upper to remove the magazine? Like how the bullet button was created to work around the needing a tool to remove the magazine law?
Thanks for your help guys, and thanks in advance for not ripping me a new one for not knowing this stuff already. I HATE California's gun laws...
