    " California Armory Tiger" 7.62x54

I know about Saiga rifles , SKS, etc. etc.

What are the Russian made "California Armory Tiger" 7.62X54 rifles? An extra high quality Saiga? What do they sell for $ ? Can a collector buy one in Ca? Are spare parts available?
    Thanks

They are commercial SVD Dragunov imports

The tiger ( Or tigr) was imported with a Thumb hole stock and no flash suppressor. It can be made CA compliant. Just fill in the Thumb hole stock.

I heard about them. They are a short version of Dragunov. I think they are cool , but expensive. 2-3k ( I think) Romanian are less. Similar guns to Russian.

Look at the mag location. Very different.

PSL is just an enlarged RPK with x54r chamber

An SVD rifle has its own design. Very different from an AKM platform. As a matter of fact, nothing is interchangeable between a psl and an svd. They both fire the same round. Last California armory tigr sold close to 7K on gunbroker

$5000-7000 was going to be my guess for a Tigr since the last civilian SVD model I saw sold for around 16 grand if i recall.
Norinco SVDs are in the same price range as the Tigr

There's a member on here with one, posted a thread about it last year. The importer was located in my home town and has the city marked on the receiver, wanted one just for that reason but they're pulling over $5k easy.

I wanted a SVD for the longest time, but the prices kept climbing faster than I could save up the money. I gave up when I found a NIB PSL here locally for $795, which is a heck of a lot less money compared to a SVD.

Thank You everyone for the info .
It is definitely out of my price range. Really cool rifle though. I thought they were selling for a lot less. Why are the prices so high ? "California Armory Tiger" rifles are not like real SVD / Dragunov.

Any svd type rifle is going to catch a premium. I imagine a long defunct small town importer with very few examples to choose from would entice a niche collector. A real Russian is surely worth more but the tigrs seem more common to me.
