Bad muzzle on CMMG what should I do?

I bought a CMMG 20" flattop upper a while back, probably around 6 months, brand new from riflegear.com. I unscrewed the flash hider and the muzzle isn't flat all the way around, there is a bulde. I will post pics later today. Is this normal? I know a good muzzle is key for accuracy. I am kind of disappointed this slipped by CMMG's quality control. Where do you guys think I should start, with calling riflegear or CMMG. God I hope I kept the sales receipt.

Are you sure it isn't just a buildup of carbon deposits on the crown? I would send an email with pics to TechSupport@cmmginc.com and see what they say. If you have to send it in it may be awhile for them to replace the barrel.

Wow, good call on the carbon build up... I feel embarrassed for not trying to scratch it off before. It was rock hard but I laid into it and it started flaking off. Thanks for the great idea.

Be careful in that area as you can easily futz the crown.

Removing muzzle devices is generally not advisable.

This question comes up a lot with people on their 1st rifles... don't feel bad. You've passed another shooter experience stage.
