Other than the tiny springs and parts ... I personally sleep better at night knowing I have a spare gas tube.

After you're done killin' zombies for the day during the apocalypse you'll go home and order a replacement part?

Normally I don't take the whole zombie thing seriously, but in this case the OP did specify that these are spare parts for a zombie apocalypse, lol.

Although, I'm relatively certain that CheaperThanDirt is already run by zombies so perhaps they'll be unaffected.
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

Right now I have 57 items in my shopping cart at a well known online store . included in that cart are things like extractors , gas rings , all different springs , detents , ejectors , both take down pins , charging handles etc . Most of those are in counts of 5 each . I'm thinking a few complete bolts should be added to the cart .

        what say you ?

I say you're just wasting a lot of money on parts you will never need.....just to say you have them.

I always thought "zombie apocalypse" was code for when the snowflakes hit the fan ??? Do people really think zombies are coming lol .

I was just on the PSA website and remembered I have a PA-10 lower needing an upper . Oh man this may screw my budget all up . If I get a complete 308 upper it's going to hurt the wallet for a couple months . I was ready to spend 2 or 3 hundred dollars on parts but I see they have one upper for sale right now .

Maybe I'll wait and see what there weekend deals will be . I still might do a 223 Wylde 18" upper . Been wanting a 18" for a while now , Thinking of putting a 1x6 Primary arms or Vortex on it

Maybe you didn't read that I have 6 spare BCGs

Ill admit I forgot the exact wording of the OPs post since I was enjoying reading everybody's responses before I decided to share my own thoughts.

Here's what I went with so far

                  Three extra firing pins .

                  bought 2 of these

                  one of these

                  2 of these

I came oh so close to buying the 18" 223 Wylde upper but decided not to and bought 2k projectiles instead . I'm still likely going to get at least one gas tube in a every length since . I have rifles in each carbine , mid length and rifle so having those would be good along with the proper pins .

I already have a few extra charging handles , FCG's and one "F" marked front sight base as well as other assorted parts including a field repair kit from PSA and another repair something or other thing I for get what it was right now . So I'm pretty happy with where I'll be as far as parts .

Any must haves I forgot ??

Seems pretty good to me. A bunch of people also said to get a few gas tubes, I've never personally needed one, but hey, they're cheap so why not.

Maybe a bolt carrier too, make sure it's already got a staked gas key. You don't wanna be staking gas keys while a zombie is chewing on your face.

Apocolapes: Greek in origin. Describes the state of the world after the Planet of the Apes takeover.

Secondary meaning can also describe a lapse of time and or space whilst listening to the folk band Poco.

Since you didn't get a spare complete bcg I would say grab a couple of cam pins and probably a gas key and gas key screws. Watch the AK operators union video where they test a radical firearms AR

I was tempted last year to buy a PWS AR- always loved their rifles- but decided want to stick to gas vs piston since my other ARs all gas for parts interchangeability.

I do have an extra BCG I bought on sale and extra upper I can break down for parts as well as couple LPK's- but some good suggestions on this thread for other parts as well I may order.

Main thing though is- I cannot believe w the upcoming online ammo ban that these retailers still selling 5.56/.223 for decent prices.

#1 priority if don't reload for me would be- buy BULK ammo.

I made about 9 different orders on SGAMMO past 18 mos and since I do not shoot more than once/month these days I am set for the next decade in my 4 main calibers- .223, .308, 9mm and .45.

Speaking of SGammo, this stuff is worth its weight in gold: http://www.sgammo.com/product/223-55...-556k-lap-ammo

$376/shipped for 1000rds of X-TAC 62gr green-tip. I'd buy a pallet of it if I could afford to. Shoots very tight groups in all my 16" AR's. Plus it has evil green tips

Toss them in a .50 cal ammo can with a desiccant packet and store them for decades if you want.

They also have the 55gr version of the same thing for $30 less, but I find the 62gr shoots better in my guns. Some ranges don't allow green-tip ammo though.

I went ahead and bought a few gas tubes from Rainier arms along with the roll pins today . I'll likely get a complete BCG and maybe a carrier . Gas keys and screws would not be a bad idea as well but my budget is pretty much done for now so anything else will need to wait .

I reload so ammo is not an issue for the most part . I stocked up pretty good on the lead up to the election . Lots of powder and primers but could use more projectiles and did address that some with the 1k 45 and 1k 9mm projectiles I just bought .
