NEW SKS Yugo Imports - A Closer Look

My birthday present to myself finally arrived! Yugoslavian variant M59/66 SKS Rifle chambered in the venerable 7.62x39 cartridge refurbished in the BA TRB Arsenal in Bosnia imported by PW ARMS Inc.

This thing is IMMACULATE! Bluing is nice and even. The grenade launcher site has been removed and the spigot machined into a flash hider. In fact, you can still see the rings on the flash hider. The flash hider is legal because there is no detachable mag. The stock looks brand new, and all original serials and markings removed. The addition of a rubber but pad with cleaner access and the machining of the rear sight is a nice touch. Doesn't come with a cleaning rod and the trigger isn't anything to write home about. The barrel rifling looks good and shiny, I was told they may have been re-barreled. All in all, the rifle is way better than I expected, it's not for the purists, but it's a great addition for the collector or a great sks for the first time owner.

Edit: I purchased a cleaning kit and rod off of Amazon for $10, was just too lazy to place it for the pictures. Pictured below in the group shot.

Guess I had better fax my FFL03 & COE over to J&G and be ready to have one of these rifles shipped to my door. I need another SKS like I need another hole in my head but dang, these rifles are... different...

it's a nice rifle, but I dont need the unnecessary added length with the long flash hider and the longer buttstock, I prefer the original sks profile / size

the sks has no need for a flash hider, maybe they could have just crowned the barrel and left the FH off?

Since this was so heavily modified is it still considered a C&R?

J&G has them listed as C&R and they will ship to CA...

Tempting but in the end it'll be around $600 after fees. Decisions decisions.
