Looks nice, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one if the ergonomics felt good

Can I get some feedback on featureless grip prototype?

Great final suggestion. Dude, thank you a ton for this. You've really clarified and validated the changes that need to be made.
So, putting it all together, I'm picturing something like this. What do you think?

Im liking it. It'll be interesting to see the position and shape of that thumb swell. Looking at it now it looks iffy but I'll trust your inner vision.
Print up some prototypes and send them to a few calgunners for t and e. I'll volunteer.Last edited by luckyduck; 01-12-2017, 10:03 AM.Comment

I'm a fan of the Hammerhead and would be interested in testing it.Comment

Pretty cool, I was always wondering why nobody had made something like this yet. I'd really have to try it out first before I bought one though, because it seems like the ergonomics might be a little too strange for my liking.
At least a *little* bit of a curve in that area would help I think, but with the whole area filled with material it definitely seems like a long trigger reach to me too.Comment

please post a pic or vid with the rifle shouldered and hand in firing position.
Thanks

I'd like to see that as well, when I picture myself shouldering that rifle it seems like maybe my wrist doesn't quite twist or bend that far comfortably. But it might be fine, too, kind of hard to tell.Comment

C&G, its close to the same grip angle as shooting a bolt action offhand. It's pretty comfortable but you also have the option of thumb over. Similar design as the Hammerhead but a bit more refined.Comment

I am referring to the top part of the grip that the web between the thumb and index finger rests along. If you draw a line straight across from the top of the exposed trigger, it looks like its a little lower and I can't tell if that is because of the angle and there is some extra material there that I am not seeing. The hammerhead actually sits above that line to make sure it is extra Cali compliant. As far as the part that sits below the trigger guard, I agree with you that it is not an issue.I hear ya. I think once you understand the law, the grip design is pretty logical.
As far as depth below the trigger, are you concerned with respect to protruding conspicuously? The DOJ explicitly okayed a few traditional hunting rifles (Browning BAR, Remington 7400), each of which have grips that go about 1"-1.5" below the trigger. The legal ones, the Exile Hammerhead, Monsterman, etc all go below the trigger similarly.
We've doing our best to stay mindful of people with small hands. Distance to trigger has been good so far. This version has that little thumb groove on top, which really worked, so we're keeping that. That being said, people with super-short fingers may benefit from an extended mag release.
Thanks, I appreciate the feedback.
Thank you for your work. I hope this all works out to the benefit of everyone.safe - semi - full semiComment
