Please HELP me Pick an UPPER for AR15

    Guys,

I'm looking for a complete upper: 16"-18" barrel. (BCG & CH may or may not be included - depending on price), but a quad rail would be good. Looking to spend under 350ish (could stretch a little more) for the right upper.

    How is this - http://www.hardenedarms.com/ecProduct_286_27

    Any others.... ?

    Thanks!

is this for a precision match build or what?

That is cheaper than PSA, that alone, scares me a little bit......
"It is currently CA legal to modify a double-action revolver into a single-action revolver and modify a single-action revolver into a double-action revolver.

CA DOJ BOF stance on modifying handguns only applies to dimensionally compliant bolt-action single-shot pistols and dimensionally compliant break-open single-shot pistols.
^It does not apply to revolvers, manually operated repeating pistols, and semi-auto pistols." ~~ Quiet

I just purchased an Aero M4E1 complete upper (16" barrel 15" key mod rail) it gets delivered tomorrow.

It was about $430.00 but without charging handle and BCG.

I've never used Aero stuff before but i read their complete uppers were very good quality for the price. Time will tell i guess

              Buy once. Cry once.

Of course this can lead into buying again and crying again as you can't have just one.

Nice, but too pricey; and I don't see the benefit of having a 13" hand guard, other than it's weight. Even on a mid-length I think 10" is standard. I don't mind getting a carbine either...

I was hoping for a good shooter, maybe a precision.... or a 18" heavy barrel. Or just a good 16" carbine will do too.

Basically, wanna get an AR upper WHILE I CAN Kalifornia laws are constantly against us, so might as well get me a Christmas gift..

Mid length is much better than a carbine length gas system. 13" is probably the best size IMO. There have been a lot of good comments.

You're not going to get high quality for $350.
sigpicC'mon man, shouldn't we ban Democracks from Cal-Guns? Or at least send them to re-education camps.

I just got one of those troy complete uppers for primary arms on sale for $450. Comes with bcg, charging handle, and troy iron sights, 13 inch m-lok. For that price it's a steal. Can't wait to shoot it.

You will be able to buy an upper next year. For now, just buy whatever cheap upper you can find so that you have a complete rifle to register (assuming that it your intent). You can swap the with something nicer next year. You can always sell your cheap upper after the new year.

A 'match' (very accurate) upper will run you at least $1000. Making an upper accurate involves free floating the barrel with an aluminum handguard, and using a barrel of exceptional quality.

High quality barrels will run you $350 for just the barrel shipped. http://direct.kriegerbarrels.com/col..._c_7_d_7-twist

A nice free-floating handguard is about $200 to start, and goes way up from there. Here is a nice entry level one: http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-K...10-556-blk.htm

DD makes truly great handguards, but they run about $400.

Noveske, Danial Defense, and JP Rifles all put out complete uppers with this kind of quality parts. You won't find them for this kind of price range though since the individual components cost more then you are looking to spend.
