    Search help..

Is there a thread on how to use the search button more efficiently? I see many post replies that always say "use the search" or "search is your friend". I know im not the only one who thinks the search button is a pain in the ***. like typing in 10/22 gets no results. So if i have a commonly asked question on 10/22's, what then? It just seems every time i search for something, i get no results, or 1000 results that when i click on the link, start on page 1 of the thread and require an hour of reading to find the answer im looking for. Maybe someone can type up a user friendly guide to the search button. Maybe there is one, but i dont think i could find it useing the search .

10/22 is kind of broad.. use more terms.. such as 10/22 mods or 10/22 tigger mods... people say use the search because its like beating a dead horse hope this helps, and if you get a lot of results.. read! so much can be answered and referenced back to all those results. hope this helps

i type in 10/22 trigger mod, i get 500 posts with HK trigger mod, ar trigger mod, ext, ext. I just dont see how to use it with any good result lol. I do read into the posts as much as possible, i have been lurking in these forums for a long time reading general CA OLL stuff. but now that i put that info into motion and im getting my build together, i would like to use the search feature to gather information based on what im searching for.

You can use google and just put calguns.net as one of the search terms along with whatever you are actually trying to search.

If you go to Google and type "Site:http://www.calguns.net xxx" where xxx is what you're searching for, you'll have much more luck.

Yea. I remember titles of threads real close to what they were, and they don't show up.

                I don't get it.
                The search sucks.

Thanks, forgot about that old trick, ill have to use it in the future. I used to get good results with that. But dont you think it should be known in one of the bigginer forums or something? People are so damn sour about using the search button, but the search blows .

Yes, I'm hoping we can just get the search replaced with one "powered by Google."
