Always stay legal...

For long range make sure its a white oak upper with a 20" barrel and a 1/7 or 1/8 twist to shoot 77 and 80 grain bullets. They work great out to 600 yards, even 800 on a calm day. After that forgetaboutit.

Frankenbuilds (I built two) are worth less than the sum of their parts. That's one of the reasons to buy one pre-built.

Be forewarned, the current owner may not agree and the deal may fall apart.

I'm trying to do a trade. I have an item worth 2000+ dollars being traded for a used AR plus cash.

I would like to give my counter party a fair value.

It an Aero Precision build (receivers and barrel) with a BCM bolt, Fortis hand guard rail combo and a Vortex magnified red dot.

New I compute the build to cost 1050. I offered 800. Is that a decent offer? The sellers says he has 200 rounds through it. Any advise appreciated. I want to do the trade, so within reason, I'd improve my valuation. But I don't think it's smart to value it at par wth a new Colt LE6920. I might as well turn around and buy the Colt out right.

Didnt Colt drop their LE line several years ago. Its the Colt SP6920 and last time I checked on the SP back in 2013 was like $1000 and some change for the base gun.

I very much respect your decision not to back out on your offer. Agree with the others that your offer is more than generous, albeit a little on the high side. But if it's what you want and both parties are happy, then it's a good deal.

An ar15 is a gun I would never buy used, unless I have no other options.

AR's that have been pieced together will always be valued lower than factory assembled rifles. With that being said, if a rifle has been assembled using quality parts, most of time they'll outperform factory rifles!
