Sub moa with pmc or AE 55gr

I've seen barrel reviews that state the barrel is sub moa with bulk .556 or ..223.

Anyone here actually have such a barrel?

I'm thinking of picking up a wylde chamber 16" or 18" and don't mind paying up to $300 if cheap bulk ammo can really go sub moa but I really have my doubts that is possible at 100 yards.

A lot of people shoot at 25 yards and get one ragged hole so they believe it will be sub MOA at 100 yards.

The best accuracy I get from XM193 is 2.5 MOA using a rifle with 1:9 twist.

The 55gr FMJ ammo is of poor quality and if you're able to get sub MOA it's by accident. There's a reason match ammo is more expensive.

No one anywhere has such a barrel. The 50 different 3 shot groups from one trip to the range get cherry picked for the one or two that happen to be "sub moa", and sometimes even have a coin in the image to show you the scale(as if we don't know how big the bullet hole is), which is sometimes covering up(calipers and sticky dots cover them too) the "flyer" that the shooter wants to pretend doesn't count.

How do you get sub moa results from +2 moa ammo? You lie through your teeth or, you happen to get lucky and shoot a group of flyers that all hit close to each other.

I see "MOA" posts all the time from guys with budget builds and milspec ammo. I personally get 2-3" groups @ 100 yards with M855 but it not uncommon for me to have a flyer or two that kills a group completely.

I spoke to a guy at sportsmans warehouse. He was looking into reloading. He said 1moa bulk ammo is not accurate enough. This was from his 16" Chromeline barrel. I immediately got on my knees and worshiped him. True story, except the last part.

Edit: I just got back from the range and confirmed you can get subMOA with bulk ammo.

IIRC mil-spec ammo is spec'ed at 2MOA. So not going to get sub-MOA out of that no matter what barrel you shoot it through.

Consistency of powder, bullet weight/uniformity, length, seating depth, neck tension, prep, etc is where an accurate round starts at. Although with most shooters any ammo is not the first thing to blame when it comes to accuracy it's actually the person behind the trigger.
