"Kalashnikov Concern" partially converted Saiga $699?

    Hey everyone.
What's your thoughts on this offering from Atlantic? Doesn't seem bad for an extra $100 over a sporter configuration Saiga. Personally I would still have to convert the front end.

    Thanks!

I like it the was it is. The fact it takes standard mags is worth the 100 alone IMHO. If it didn't have the pg and a standard stock it would be a great featureless out of the box.

And i believe the 'front end' is where the big money starts to come into play.

It's sorta worth it if they added the bullet guide correctly. If this is RWC or Century conversion where they welded in a guide or installed the wrong one. I would way pass.

not a bad price considering a half assed conversion job has been done already. to complete the front end you just need a lower handguard retainer (20$) a gas tube (30$) a gas block (30$) a front sight (50$-70$) and the muzzle brake of your choice and hand guards. takes about 45 mins to do the work.

Time and labor wise the back end is the more expensive thing if done right. The correct way of doing it is welding up all the holes, installing a new trigger guard, installing the factory mag catch , riveting in the bullet guide and refinishing.

It only takes a few minutes, a bullet guide and a little work to make any Saiga take standard mags.

I personally would not buy any ak that does not have a threaded barrel or teeth to put my cleaning rod and bayonet. Atlantic might still have the russian rak or sunburst, I got one of those a while back and man is it a bad *** rifle. saigas are good rifle but im not a fan of the long handguad.

I calculated the end cost, and its about 900 dollars into your safe in its current configuration.

You do realize the the saigas we get here is just a product of crappy import restrictions right. Saiga is the just the model name for semi auto guns that are for civilian use.
. Also they are not supposed to have threaded barrels. They should look like this from the factory. You will notice it doesn't have a bayo lug on the front or the accessory lug on the gb. **** they are even available select fire .
