ill try,
my bcg and buffer weight about 6ozs, a stock ar bcg and buffer weight is about 16ozs. less mass moving equals less recoil.
a second part here almost never talked about is the gas system is adjustable,so i have the gas turned down to where it will barley lock the bcg back on last round.about 75% less gas them a stock ar would need to cycle the bcg correctly
thats how you get less recoil over a stock ar

Looks fun. I'm surprised V7 uses Titanium rather than Aluminum for the grip screw, I would have expected Aluminum to be adequate and save a fraction of a gram (and likely some cost).Originally posted by CSACANNONEERA real live woman is more expensive than a fleshlight. throwing cash at a AR to see how light you can go
If I could have found a mag tac upper/lower prolly even lighter.

Very nice OP. But I think you mean Mag Tactical and not Mag Tech.
Where did you find the Mag Tactical stripped upper? Mag Tactical hasn't had them in stock for over 4 months since I've been checking.
bonesurf, what stripped upper did you use?"Show me a young conservative and I'll show you a man without a heart. Show me an old liberal and I'll show you a man without a brain." - Sir Winston Churchill

Very cool, OP. Looks great!
I threw cash at the lightweight AR problem too...the difference is I threw it all the way to Nevada and the boys at Bentwood Gunsmithing
63 oz without optics, no plastic except for the Ergo Swift grip:
67.4 oz with an Aimpoint H-1 and Fortis mount:
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
Come on...what harm??

I think the key here is "perceived" recoil. Momentum cannot be created or destroyed. So ya, end of the day, the recoil energy is the same... but it can feel different.
I think the biggest thing this guy has going for him in recoil is the adjustable gas block. A lot of semi autos (ar-15's included) have so much bolt velocity that they overcome spring tension, and smack the back of the receiver... creating a jolt of recoil that kind of hurts (at least on certain guns). Same recoil energy, different impulse.
This rifle seems to be tuned to the point where the bolt doesnt smack the back of the receiver, so no jolt of recoil... plus it has a muzzle break. Probably a hoot to shoot.sigpic

Who woulda thunk that 5 years ago the tacticool rage what all the crap you could bolt on. Now tacticool trend is light weight.California's politicians and unionized government employees are a crime gang that makes the Mexican drug cartels look like a Girl Scout Troop in comparison.Comment
