$75 - $125 isn't expensive for an American made precision sight. Daniel Defense fixed rear sight is around $65, Diamondhead USA is $105, Magpul pro $100, Magpul polymer $55, YHM $86, Matech $105.... all seem reasonable.

You can buy chinese ripoffs or make your own but I bet you'll be wasting your time and ammo when you can't hold zero.

Id love a carry handle on a FAL but on AR's I absolutely hate carry handles, probably because I hate everything that reminds me of the POS M-16's I had to use in the Army.

Dont bother saying Army guns suck because soldiers and 'armorers' never maintain their weapons. Already know and still dont care.

For target shooting, I come up about 4 or 5 clicks off of the bottom and then zero the front post for a 6 o'clock hold on the MR31 target. That works until past the 600 yard line, then you turn the front post down a few turns for your 1000 yard zero. I'm not sure how far to turn it but it's near the bottom. You just have to write down the setting so you can go back to your 100 yard zero.

Cause w/o that important part you'll be shooting like a shotgun...

It also doubles as a mount for many optics including ACOGs.

Many USA scope mounts cost twice to thrice the amount too...

PSA has blemished carry handle sights on sale for 54 bucks for Father's Day sale.

Same as A2/A1 fixed stock. No idea why they are so expensive

They aren't. Unless you're comparing them to parts made 5-30 years ago via eastern european labor that was paid next to nothing in such quantities they practically give them away. Instead of trying to compare prices to an AK, compare them to other rifles priced and manufactured similarly.

While it can be done, I didn't like it. Damn carry handle mounting puts the optic way too high for any useful cheekweld. Maybe for like a c-more or other reflex sight though...

A buddy went cheap and bought a $30 one from the local gun store 2 months ago. Wouldn't hold tight on his upper. It would move back and forth.
I got him a Colt one from another friend for $50. He balked at the asking price of $80.
But then again, this was a bargain PSA build where he went as cheap as he could go. That was his first lesson in "cheap" gun stuff.

                            ~25$ from amazon

I put one on my son's AR and its solid....

Had it sighted in a few rounds and hit 10 ring shots at 100 yds reliably.

$75 is NOT expensive for a quality made, metal sight.

The Troy flip sights are industry standard and those run about $125 a pop.
