Need help with AR Upper

I would suggest looking at STAG ARMS uppers. They are high quality chrome lined uppers for about $75 -100 less than RRA. CMT who make STAG also makes the RRA lowers so the color match and fit should be perfect. They are always sold out but if you can get one, you should.

I rebuilt a couple of my rifles with different brand receivers to get a tighter fit. You can always loosen it up, but if it is too loose, it will hurt accuracy and feel sloppy. I wouldn't buy another lower unless I knew it would fit tight with an in-spec uppper.

Acuwedges and break open AR type firearms do not work well together. Basically that Acuwedge makes such a tight fit, you really only want to do that once and then leave it alone. That was my experience with my Acuwedge and my FAB-10.

Loose fitting upper/lower recievers have little to do accuracy of an AR type rifle.

Feel sloppy yes, hurt accuracy, not so much.

I am making a CA legal pinned mag AR. I have a RRA stripped lower, RRA 6-point telescoping stock, RRA LPK, Bushmaster 10 rounder, and the Prince 50 mag lock kit.

I am looking for a good upper (want it chrome lined). I kinda wanted stay on RRA theme.... however, I have heard that RRA uppers are a real tight fit with the RRA lowers. This would be a pain in the nonono, as I will need to crack it open after every 10 shots..... I could push for 11 if one is in the chamber =P j/k

Do you guys have any suggestions for an upper that would fit well on an RRA lower, without problems?

+1 All the accuracy comes from the upper receiver.

Also, "Milspec" calls for +/- tollorences so it's supposed to be a bit loose.
Take any LMT / COLT milspec rifle and it will have some play for the most part. (yes, you could have a tight fitting COLT/LMT but most likely it will be loose). I'm an LMT dealer and there are a lot more play than civilian built models like RRA, BM, STAG, etc. The reason the military calls for looser tollorences is so that uppers and lowers can be swapped out and still have it function. I've had several civilian uppers/lowers that wouldn't fit together. Even the same brand.
