To address the OP & the original question: The answer is: NOTHING. The BOF apparently selected a special* group of agents/lawmakers to come up with something to make these fun, sporting (but with the always-dreaded "MILITARY" stigma attached) firearms that have LONG been widely and legally available, seem (all of a sudden) "EEEEVVVIL." That pretty much sums it up for me.

I agree with you that those U-15 stocks are rather "unsightly", so I'm going with a monsterman for my build.

I will say, though, if you're looking for better ergonomics, the U-15 seems (to me at least) to be a better option. The Monsterman seems to be less comfortable, but much "cooler" in appearance. Plus, the monsterman is about $150 less that the U-15... (and I'm a cheap-*****)

Apparently, just like in Hollywood, you only need to reload if you're taking aimed shots from the shoulder. Not having the rifle at your shoulder instantly converts your magazine into an infinite bag of holding, which happens to only contain ammunition.

Damn... Now that I think of it, that would make range days a hell of a lot cheaper. Squeeze off 9 rounds, lower it to your hip, instant magical reload, keep shooting...

I've tried both and MHO the U-15 is much better on the Ergo issues. I've even got my squirel rifle set up with one.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with 20 and 30 round mags either, but the numbskulls can't wrap their minds around that either.

You can supposedly "shoot from the hip."
Consider this badass clip. How was he able to do that without a pistol grip?

They claim it allows you to shoot from the hip but in reality it makes it more difficult to shoot from the hip

The pistol grip is a phallic representation on an inanimate object often associated with phallic representation.

It scares the anti's and makes them feel inadequate

Big Arnold isn't in control of our laws. Once he got up there, the Democratic controlled Congress re-programmed him. He's now just an advanced combat chassis programmed to tax and spend until the California economy is eradicated.

Personally, I think the U15 looks a lot better than the MMG grip.
But regardless of personal tastes, why would anyone put a less erogonomic, less comfortable feature on a weapon that they'll be shooting with a lot.

Maybe not. Some of the older Hollywood gun play was done with live ammo. Also, I didn't watch the video that carefully but, with smooth action on a 25-20, 32-20 or, something similar, anyone could do that with live ammo and some practice. But, except for a theatrical performance, why would anyone want to?
