      Stoopid

They serve a purpose and serve it well. I have a $4000 tack driver bench gun yet the American better fills the need for a lighter field gun that is still sub MOA to 200+ yards. "Serious shooters" realize that there are many different people with many different needs and budgets and don't make foolish statements like yours. Have you actually shot what you're pissing on or is your experience with them confined to your keyboard?

Tikka T3 or Savage 10's have never let me down. Best bang for your buck.

I'm just learning it & have only shot it twice with bipod & bag. It shoots quite a bit better than myself, that's all I can ask for. If you want a benchgun, I can't help you, lol.
That's a great gun and will be at or near the top of my list when I get my next rifle.

              Wow, gun snob much?

I might be wrong, but I think a Big 5 rifle can kill a deer, right out of the box, just as easily as a custom engraved $5,000 beauty can.

FWIW I think our modern era of computer-controlled machining processes and high-strength polymer have resulted in some of the finest production firearms ever seen. This is also true of optics, where even inexpensive, Chinese-manufactured glass is probably superior to almost anything that was available as recently as 30 years ago.

While I do like the look and feel of deeply blued steel mated with hand-checkered walnut, I also see the functional beauty and engineering genius of guns such as the Savage Axis and Ruger American in all their parkerized and polymer-stocked glory, and have little doubt that my poor, ignorant @$$ would have little trouble hitting what I aim at with it.
              "Two dead?!? HOW?!?"
[sigh] "Bullets, mortar fire, heavy artillery salvos, terminal syphilis, bad luck --- the usual things, Captain."

This right here. SO many people piss and moan about how much better Remage is over Savington, and when it all comes down to it you can barely buy a rifle from any company that is more than 2MOA. 100 years ago that would be unheard of. Most calgun members, (and I'll wager a high percentage of those who like to posture about quality differences) can't hold better than 1MOA anyway. The vast majority of people who need a rifle to preform really just need 1 minute of dear. They go to the range once or twice a year to "sight in" on a 10" paper plate at 100 yards and then maybe they go hunting.

Nearly everyone else. Nearly every serious shooter, every serious hunter can't be bothered with this dumbass argument.

Go buy a rifle, damn near any rifle. Later when you know what you want, then go buy what you want or have what you want built. Sell the old rifle, or keep it for the kid or whatever. It's the difference between doing something to say you did it or becoming proficient. Those with proficiency don't get caught up in the equipment as much as those who post on facebook.
weg: That device is obsolete now. They replaced it with wizards.
frank: Wait a minute. There are more than one wizard? Is [are?] the wizard calibrated?
