Tough break man. At least you can practice at the range. Wishing a speedy recovery.

Where did you place the shot and what hunting grounds were you on?

Hit it right under the shoulder at 40 yards. It was sitting and saw me, as soon as it did, it got up and was getting ready to take off. As it went down to leap, i put one in its shoulder. DRT. All took about 5 seconds.

I haven't gone deer hunting yet so let me pick your brain a little.

What type of bullet did you use?

If you used your scope, at what distance did you zero it?

If you used your scope, did you compensate for the close distance or did you put the cross hairs right where you wanted them?

Dont know how much it weighted.. im thinking 75lbs after dressing, small guy.

I shot the deer with iron sights. I just put the scope to see how well it groups. I used 208gr Amax. Through and through.

For use of scope, i have shot deer at 15 yards with a SU-15 with scope. While running, i did aim about 3" high to compensate the bore/scope. Hit it where i needed it to.
