So I am considering a bolt action 338 Lapua. What scope should i get to take advantage of the long range shooting?

          which 338L you getting?

I can't hit the board side of a barn but I'm thinking the Savage LRH is just Too Much Gun For The Money to not own.

Had a couple spotty reviews but mostly very good and hopefully any bugs worked out.
Am I a good shot!?!, YEAH I'M A GOOD SHOT!....i just got bad aim

sub-$1000 - SWFA, Vortex PST, used NF, Bushnell HDMR
              Around $1000 - Bushnell HDMR 3.5x21
Around $1500 - a NF of some sort like a 5-22 power range or the old Vortex Razor Gen 1. Some may even say a straight 10x power used USO
Around $2500 - Vortex Razor Gen 2, Kahles K624i, used USO, or some even say a straight 10x S&B
              $3K+ - S&B variable, USO, NF Beast

Don't forget a GOOD set of rings. No cheap rings.

or better yet, since you're running a 338 Lapua and you may need to hit that 1 mile zombie go with this! 0-70 MOA adjustment on the rings!!!! More than enough adjustment. I'm eyeing this right now.

Pig man the series had a good show on the savage 110ba shooting hogs a 1000yrds. That was a $2500 rifle with a big scope but I don't know what brand it was. Did not look cheap though

                            338 Lapua??

I run 60 MOA base on my 338. Most high end scopes will still zero at 100. I get out past 2 Kilometers without hold over in the right DA..

It depends on how far you want to shoot it. If your budget allows it, the Hensoldt ZF 3.5-26x56 is in a league of it's own for ELR shooting. The only issue issue is that you'd need to use European CW turrets. And, you'd pretty much certainly get the Recknagel adjustable incline scope mount to accommodate the 36mm tube, but that is an excellent mount. Otherwise, go with a Schmidt or Kahles if the respective 26 and 25 Mil travel suffices.
