The ar mags are kind of a big downside to the mvp. It limits what ammo you can run... And capacity isnt really an issue with a bolt gun.

You can single load the rifle. People single load the 80 grainers in the AR competition rifles.

AICS 223 mags accept 2.520" long cartridges so you can shoot the 80gr bullets from a magazine.

What twist do you need for 80gr bullets?

If the .270ar guys can figure out how to shoot 130gr Bergers out of AR Mags. Well I'm sure 80gr .223 would be no problem.

75 grain A-max won't fit in AR15mags, I can make them fit but it won't be fun shooting them.

                  1:8" will be fine in a 24" barrel or 1:7.75" in a 20" barrel.

I just asked because of the MVP using AR mags. MVP would have to be re-barreled for best results with 80gr bullets it has 1in9".

You can shoot the .223 out to 1000 yards if you handload and have a decent 1x8" twist barrel at least 26/28" long but its an advanced reloading shooter proposition.

Wing drift is 3-5% behind a 175SMK in a .308 but time of flight is better allowing less deflection in dicey conditions, not for the newbie shooter.
