The Patrol Thunder Ranch has a longer barrel than the standard Patrol.

Yep, but it has no sights and is only available in 5.56.

I'm having real trouble finding any patrols out there. My LGS called Mossberg and I was told 60 - 90 days at least for the next batch to go out.

If you get a flex and end up not liking the stock you could get a Boyds stock for it and sell flex stock or keep it for spare. http://www.boydsgunstocks.com/produc...10319&cat=1223

Riflegear in SoCal has several versions of the MVP patrol & predators in stock and at good prices, possibly have one transferred up north.

I had the same dilemma. I decided to go with the Flex in 308 because of the longer/fluted bull barrel and the take down option for easy transport. If you don't like the tactical Flex stock, you can switch it out for a standard Flex stock.

I like the idea of the iron sights on the patrol but I wanted a longer sight radius. I'm getting after market iron sights on my Flex.

Ya all the flex shotgun stocks will fit the Flex Rifle.

I have a Patrol in 308. Killed 3 hogs with it already. Fits me like a glove. Short but stout barrel gives great accuracy and doesn't heat up as fast at the range.
The Weaver/Picatinny rail is a nice touch so one can adjust a scope with more latitude. I mounted a Weaver 2.5x7 scope and it handles beautifully.
Only thing I dislike is the magazine release lever. I would make it wider and a bit thicker and longer. The original can be hard to activate.
But all in all it has become my favorite hog gun. I never liked the AR look, so the Flex is out.
