I made a mistake on the scope earlier too so I edited the other post to correct the scope specs.
    It's a Nightforce NXS 8-32x56 npr1 reticle.
The 20 moa base will get you a few hundred more yards as long as you don't need to dial any windage.
As soon as you start dialing windage, you start losing the ability to dial as much elevation.

Congrats on your Barrett .416 purchase. It's one of the most fun-to-shoot civilian guns in California. I just had mine Cerakoted Burnt Bronze for that magazine cover look .

They are out at this time but these guys usually have cases of .416 Barrett for $5/shot plus about $70 shipping, no tax. :http://www.fullspectrumfirearms.com/...mmunition.html

Also FYI, Barrett list the stock M99 rail as having 27 MOA of elev.

Hmm....no mount cant, 1/8MOA clicks and 65MOA total elevation - sounds like a benchrest scope? You might have some difficulty stretching the legs on a .416B with that one.

Now the process begins to get her into California. I got her from NC. Pretty excited about it. I can't believe I finally got it. I've been saving up for almost 2 years now.

I'll post better pics when I finally get her home. I want to hit the 1000 yd range at Sac Valley and have some fun with it. Now I have to save up for a decent optic. Can't exactly slap a cheap scope on an expensive rifle. Lol

Any suggestions on a good scope? I was thinking a budget along the lines of $1500.00-$2k or so...I really think she deserves a Night Force or Schmidt & Bender but I think reality is pointing me towards a Leupold or Zeiss. What do you guys think? It has to hold up to the recoil.

I had an approx. $300 (might have been a few more bucks) Tasco 10-40x50 on my 7mm Rem Mag and the scope literally blew apart from the recoil. Don't want that to happen again.
Now that is a rifle. Congrats OP.

It's an extremely heavy rifle. It comes with a Pelican case with wheels on it. I would not want to carry it very far.

Most shooting ranges will have a parking spot within a couple hundred feet of the firing point.

Yeah, I was trying to say that using it as a hunting rifle might be a PITA. When I had mine, just taking it out of the safe was a PITA.

32 pounds?? I know the spec sheet has it listed at 25 with a 32" HB and when I weighed mine it came closer to 27 but that's a big jump if its 32 pounds.
