I love my Mossberg MVP and it takes AR15 mags. AR15's have come way down in price also and since you don't plan on long range shooting an AR is a lot more fun than a bolt action.
Of course if you get a Bolt action you can get a reload kit for $30.00 ( LEE CLASSIC LOADER ) and reload your cases 5 or 6 times which will save money and let you fine tune those groups.
