    Timney Trigger in Remington 700

Hey has anyone switched out their X Mark Pro Trigger for one of the Timney 510/512 Triggers? I decided to upgrade to the Timney instead of dealing with all the recall non-sense. Plus it was a good excuse to my lady for why I needed to spend more money on my guns . Just seeing what you all might like or dislike about the Timney 510/512 triggers?

I have installed one on a friends rifle. I shot it and liked it. He did also. Simple job and easier than on my Ruger M77's
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Replaced the x-mark trigger with a 510 in my 5r. Pretty easy to do and a much better trigger.

I think I have 6 of them now, if that tells you anything.

Trigger shoe is a bit wider than stock but it is a much better trigger than stock.

I bought one instead of sending my rifle in for the recall and it was definitely worth it.

Dollar wise it's a good value and the quality is great. I paid less than $120 with shipping and I'd do it again without hesitation.

Installation was very simple, although I did file down the inside of my factory trigger guard where it was rubbing on the safety.

The triggers work really well. I especially like the straight version.

They install on your action very easily, but you may need to file your stock a little to get clearance. The safety might rub a hair, and there is a bolt and nut in the forward-facing part of the assembly that might need a little more room than the stock assembly did. This is nothing that can't be fixed in ten or twenty minutes.

Definitely worth the money, and maybe a little time. The X Mark seems okay, but sometimes they will adjust, and sometimes they won't. The Timney is a great upgrade for those of us who don't know how to tune the factory trigger.

What problems? I have jewell on my Rem. bench guns for 5 years without any prob at all.. Are you just spreading FUD or do you know something nobody else knows
The instructions call for periodic squirt of lighter fluid through the trigger. If you don't do that its all you not the trigger. Mine are set for 5 ozs.

There has been some common problems reported when people get dirt/grime in their Jewel triggers - which you wouldn't run into on a bench gun. I've never experienced any problems behind a Jewel trigger myself - but then again while I shoot BLM i'm not exactly hiking around with rifles.
