You're asking whether you should buy a savage axis, or a turd that happens to shoot bullets. A quick google search about the 770 should make it very obvious how much of a piece of junk it is. If you want a remington, get a 700, otherwise get just about anything else.

The Savage Axis II comes with an AccuTrigger.

Since I like Savage rifles I recommend the Axis.

So and the price is also higher, the axis and 770 are budget rifles why not spend a little more and get a rifle with quality in mind rather then price?
I am an axis owner and love it to death

                A 770 couldn't hit a barn from inside of a barn

In spite of their low price, I seem to hear this from every Axis owner. If you are going the Axis route, pay a few more dollars and get the Axis II. It comes with the Accutrigger and a Nikon Prostaff scope.

I don't own a Savage but it's on the list to purchase. I think I'm going with the Trophy Hunter in cal .308.

My 770 sits unused. My Savage goes, every time. Unfortunately the 770 is the result of some of the worse gun advice I've every taken.

Get the Savage axis. I have one in .308 and I love it. Replace a trigger spring with a shorter one, or cut a coil on the stock one and the trigger is much improved. Or like posted spend a little more and get a axis 2. The 770 is junk

Check this one out as well. I got my son one in '06. Very nice shooters.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

Only thing is that I do not think its out yet. Could be wrong.

Well fortunately you knew to not believe the idiot behind the counter at the gun store. Crisis averted.

I've got it in my safe. Keeping it if ever someone needs a loaner. Accuracy is not it's problem. The problem is quality, and ease of use. Best way I can describe it (think Yugo).
