I think the folded length is 26.75". As it was explained to me, pump action rifles just have to be 26" to be legal. This gun was designed in large part for CA buyers they wouldn't have made it illegal for CA lol

I'm sure they will figure that out - and a telescoping stock would solve the problem. The real issue is the price. Other than that, if it works it is a good idea for those of us who can't stand bullet buttons. A pump action can be worked very quickly and does have the added advantage of keeping the action clear of combustion products. Frankly, I would love to have one.
