How the heck can you win if you don't have a REM 700 in 308 shooting Federal Gold Metal Match?

A photographer I'm not. I can't seem to get the camera to focus on the stocks without a bunch of glare. Both guns I used are 6 Dashers as mentioned before. Sorry, no olive drab or tan here.

Anyway, Barnard light gun in the back with blue/silver flame hydrographic stock. Fluted Bartlein with Sightron 10-50x60.

Middle - My Nesika Bay switchbarrel light gun wearing a heavy Krieger (I think, could be Brux - too many barrel brands to keep track of anymore), Jewell trigger, Nightforce 12-42x56 in a McMillan MBR. Other barrels in 6.5x.284 Shehane, .284 Shehane, 6 Dasher, 6 PPC.

Foreground for fun - my normal heavy gun, didn't shoot it this match. McMillan HBR stock, BAT 2x10" action wearing a skinny Krieger 1.450" dia. barrel delrin sleeved in the barrel block (normal barrel is 1.730") with muzzle brake. Baer barrel block and scope mount. 51# there, 56# with normal barrels. Barrels in 6.5x.284 Shehane and .284 Shehane

Played around with picture editing settings, didn't really help:

Am I the only one that's now bookmarked the Nesika site?

Nice collection you got there, Sb!

A question though...how can you shoot straight without an AICS stock?
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
              Come on...what harm??

                Pretty wild looking!

                Considered a FDE/OD flame job?

I know a really good air brush artist.... I dunno... Be funny to get him to do "true fire" flames with od/fde!!!!!

                True fire....

And true fire orange and blue... (this is the back of my guitar he painted)

                Congrats again. Well done.

When you look at his heavygun it looks like a regular rifle in the picture.
The stock is a McMillan 50 HBR that probably weighs 12 pounds without the barrel block action or barrel. The forend is 5 or 6 inches wide and the buttstock is 2.25 or 2.5 inches wide.
That action weighs over 6 pounds is 10 inches long and 2 inches thick.
Right in front of the action is his barrel block which holds the barrel while allowing the action to float without any load on it.No bedding around the action.
I don't know his barrel length but its probably 30-34 inches long and 2 inches in diameter weighing over 25 pounds.
Now get this the barrel block clamps onto the barrel for around 7-9 inches meaning the part of the barrel sticking out is probably only 20 inches long.Remember the barrel tenon and the space between the block and the action uses up some length.
In a nutshell at 1.5-1.75 inches at the muzzle and affectively only 20 inches long that is one stiff barrel.
Can you tell I like heavyguns?

Interesting choice of action for the light gun category. Barnards aren't exactly known to be lightweight.

True. They aren't as prevalent in BR as they are in Palma/Any rifle matches. I won a certificate for some money off the action so, I built it. I'm glad I did, the three lug locks up so solid, like a "bank vault" as people say. These things are no joke, I set two NBRSA world records in 2012 with this rifle. Only held one for a minute as another guy beat my six target score in the same match. The second one still stands. Have you noticed you probably don't see too many Barnards on the used market...? People hang onto them.

The only compromise I had to make per se is, I couldn't use the Nightforce NXS I had for it, I had to use the lighter Sightron 10-50x to make weight. The rifle is literally 17.00 lbs. with the scope lens caps off.
