As long as your gun is a bench queen. They really suck if you get your rifle dirty. I switched 4 rifles over from Jewel to timney.

I carry a spare timney trigger in my pack to replace jewel triggers that go down at matches.
It has gotten used a couple times.

Been hunting with Jewell triggers for years and never had a problem. On the bench guns we pour ice water on them to cool them down and never had a problem either.
People adjusting them incorrectly always results in a problem.
Is the top lever on the Timneys captured yet like the Jewell or do you still need pins to keep it all together?
That was the only downside to the Rifle Basix verses the Jewell.

The top lever on timney is not like the top lever on a remington or jewel.
On remington and jewel, the sear pivots at the front trigger pin.
On the timney, the sear pivots behind the rear trigger pin.
Timney triggers come out of the package with a slave pin in the rear trigger pin hole holding the sear down.
You simply remove the original trigger from the rifle, place the timney unit in there and push both trigger pins in.
The slave pin slides out as you do that.

The jewel is indeed nicer as the sear is fully captured without a slave pin.
The remington is the worst as you have to either put your own slave pins in there or hold the parts in place while you start the trigger pins.

                    Randall
On the Rifle Basix triggers they had plastic pins holding them together but one side of the plastic pin had a large head on it requiring you to remove it before installation.
If you put one of them on a rifle you made sure you had short pins on hand before you did it a second time.
This was years ago when then still made original 600 Remington triggers not just 700 triggers.
Hopefully they have fixed the pins by now?

On the hundreds of 700's I have worked on, only 2-3 of them had a rifle basix trigger so I don't have enough experience to say much about them...

I have bought and installed 4 Timney triggers on my rifles. I have had zero problems and love their adjustments.
