There are two fingers on the bottom of the bolt that have to depress the next round as the bolt comes back then the finger is what grabs the round and pushes it forward. Those fingers were very rough and would score the casings. Then pushing forward I had to slam the bolt forward to get the round to go up the feed ramp. I tried 3 types of ammo. All three were the same. Then to top it off after about ten rounds the picatanny (sp?) Rail came loose.

I have since polished most of the action with emphasis on the fees ramp and the fingers on the bolt. I cycles a lot better now, but you still have to use some conviction. After putting about 200 rnds through it I like it. I probably won't buy another mossberg product due to the problems I had with this.

      It does say NATO.

Sounds like you out the wrong ammo in the gun.
Being a bolt action who could very well be shooting the wrong ammo. Not too smart though.

I want a lefty version as well. I even contacted them to see if/when they will be building one and they said, 'we have no plans to ever build a left-handed version'.
I was going to remind them that the GSR is garnering a huge left-hand population because it's a great design and it's left and right handed from the start. But why bother.
        So I've written them off.

They are, but I'd rather spend my dough with a company that would at least consider my needs.

Me too, pretty much. I'd sooner bet on a 5.56 Ruger Scout left hand than a lefty MVP.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

So did you shoot x39 instead of the 51?

No, definitely shot the 7.62x51. Just got mixed up while writing my post.

I am looking for a range report as well. LGS has them for $579.00 plus taxes/fees, and I am may purchase one this weekend. .308 caliber. Anyone with any experience with the patrol in .308, I would appreciate your input and thoughts.

                              Thanks

Only had mine to the range 1x for sighting in so far. The action on my gun was smooth and slick out of the box. The trigger is excellent in my opinion (but I'm no match shooter, so I may not know squat there). Reliability has been 100%. Haven't shot it for groups as I'm still getting it's POI to POA, but the holes have always been going in the correct direction as I made adjustments to the scope - no flyers at all. I'm shooting XM80 (149gr FMJ ball), which from what I've heard isn't renowned for it's accuracy.

I've had some issues with my Mossy 930 where others haven't, so Mossberg's production might be a little inconsistent. But if it is with their 308 Patrols, then I got a good one.

Almost went for the 5.56 Patrol when it first came out, but decided to wait for the 308 version. Glad I did, and I would recommend the gun without reservation.
