    Consignment GAP Crusader at Gun Vault

    Anyone knows who owns the GAP 308 Crusader sitting at Gun Vault in Mnt View on consignment?

    GunVault wants $3300......I rather save the 20% overhead and pay the owner instead. That should save me $660

        Lehn20;
        Is that a new GAP Crusader that they got in? Last time I was there the had a GAP Thunder Ranch and they had it for the same price. Maybe they called it a Crusader by mistake. When I was I their Rance told me he a GAP rifle in and I told him he had a Thunder Ranch. Go to the GAP site and check out the camo pattern and you can see the difference between them. Unless it has a custom paint job.

        I own a Crusader and the GAP-10. Henry

                The tag said $3300.00 with 87 or 83 rounds through it.
                Looks like a crusader to me.

                    You could build one for $2100 (if you have some mech. skills) that would shoot just as well but then you would not have the bragging rights that other people would think you were special or an operator.

                      Defiance Deviant (GAP Templar Gen 2 Action, Gen 1 not available): $1400
                      Bartlein Barrel: $340
                      McMillan A5 with no options (Crusader is spec'd out): $650
                      Badger M5 BM: $423

                      So far that's $2,163. You're looking at an average of $300 to chamber and thread a barrel, no muzzle device. $200 to bed the action. Cerakote work varies. So if you can build one for $2,100, if you are not a world renowned gunsmith, you're in the wrong business. I have a few GAP rifles so I will now add "Operator" to my resume.

                          Yup. Most run in the $1,200-$1,400 range.

                            Custom (non Rem 700) actions can get expensive. If you want to see a real expensive action look up a Surgeon action.

                              $300 for a chamber job is cheap, and that's if you can drive to the gunsmith. Does it come with magazines? Those AICS mags aren't cheap.
