I spoke to the range master there once. I guess people are complaining about the noise, disrupting their peace in the nearby trails etc. I am a frequent mountain biker, hiker, etc at these places, and you can barely even hear the shots. Chabot has taken measures to reduce the amount of noise as well. I doubt this place will be closed. Law enforcement is on our side, on this one.

Last time I check, there were only a hundred or so people sign to close Chabot, including some complete irrelevant people from Canada or Europe.

There are more than two millions people in Contra Costa and Alameda counties served by Chabot, not sure how a few hundred anti's can really represent the rest of us.
Also local PDs and DHS are probably on our side, since they too use Chabot regularly for training.

Do you think if the range is closed (to the public) it will also be closed to our militarized overlords? I doubt that very much.

I read the anti petition and they want to put noise restrictions on guns like we do on Cars. To that I say HELL YEAH let me have my suppressor and you can hike in peace and quiet.

Those officers are also citizens off the clock. Every time I go to Chabot, there are a bunch of off duty leo.
