See thru scope mounts

(1) Get rid of those "see thru" rings.
(2) Get a proper scope base for your firearm: suggestion http://www.midwayusa.com/product/711...-770-70a-matte Note how one base is taller than the other...for the Winchester 670
(3) Get proper rings for your receiver that will place the scope bell as close to the bore as possible.
(4) Put it all together with an in/lb torque wrench and tighten to spec only.

Great advice. As for "co-witnessing" iron sights through a scope, doesn't really happen. You usually don't see them if your running anything over 3x, and it doesn't seem to matter how high the mounts are.

Currently have two rifles, a Rem 700 adl and a Savage Hog Hunter, that wear 3-9x40 scopes, mounted in low rings, and iron sights. I personally like the irons as a back-up, but have never really needed to use them.
