    I LOVE MY GSR too!
Steel mag is junk. Get the polymer ones.

I removed the scope mount rail since I havent used it. Not kidding mine shoots little clover leafs at 75-100 yards with the stock sights and surplus 7.62 "Cavin" ammo. AND my eyes suck!

I like the whole Scout concept, but to me it is on the pricey side. If Ruger took their new polymer-stocked Ruger American, used the compact model as a basis for a lower-priced scout rifle, I bet it would sell well.

My only issue has been mags feeding nose first. Maybe they need oil or magpul type followers?

        Great rifle, very accurate.
Xs rail, quick detach Redfield revenge, cheek rest.

Be nice to load her with Stripper Clips when using Iron Sites but no Guide

M-14 Mags would have been a plus too, probably Ruger trying to be too PC

Do you have an exact model for that scope? I really like the way that looks. Which b-ipod are you using too?

I'm in the market for a scope for my Ruger GSR and I like the idea of using QD so I can go from prone/bench shooting w/ scope to iron sights. That's one of the main reasons I bought my Ruger GSR earlier this year.

IIRC the reason behind not using the M14 mags was that it would have made the receiver fatter and therefore defeated the purpose of a "light, handy rifle."

The lack of a stripper clip guide is also a nit I would pick with this gun. In Cooper's The Art of The Rifle, he specifically mentions that the benefit of a forward-mounted scope, in addition to being able to use one's peripheral vision, was that it kept the top of the action open for quick stripper-clip loading. There is even a photo with a caption to that effect. In that respect, the GSR failed

In just about every other respect, they got it right. I definitely covet one of these, but just can't see the funds appearing anytime soon.

Scope was from the Leupold custom shop. They were not making them production line for normal sale then but perhaps that is changed by now.

Bipod is a Harris I picked up at Turner's, the one that has the grooves in the legs whichever model that was.

I've had great results with the mounts, returning to zero hasn't been an issue and I remove the scope often.

Nice set-up. I decided on a conventional scope mounting. It barely clears the xs sight and rail but fits me perfect.

The onY issues I have heard is the mags, and that they are extremely loud.
