Guess I'll have to put in my sole vote for GG&G.

Atlas. It's the best, also king of price.

$20 UTG is the way to go...

It's not popular or status quo to say but I do not think the bottom of the line Harris's are worth it. Too many internet commandos have not used one. Without a pivot point and the ability to "roll" the bipod there is little to no utility. Harris makes some expensive stuff that solves the problem, but the basic models are not very well designed. I do really like that they are all USA made.

The 2nd gen Versa-pods are my favorite. A 50 series is just above $100 and the large knobs and ability to roll make it work. Yes they are chinese, to get the American made version its silly expensive. I hate chinese stuff but this is what I can afford.

I've never liked the swivel style bi-pods. Maybe I haven't tried the right one.

Why not? For benchrest only, I like fixed bipods. For just about anything else, I like swivel. I have both, and they are both advantageous in certain conditions.

The swivel bipods really need to be cranked down tight, then the act like a fixed bipod except that for uneven terrain the rifle can be leveled as needed.

Make sure you get a pivot bipod. If it doesn't pivot it is fairly useless. I got a used but like new Blackhawk for $30 on Amazon.

If you have a perfectly level shooting surface, without any deviation, and hang your target perfectly relatively level to the shooting surface at 100, 200, 300 whatever yards, then a fixed bipod is for you.

If you live in the real world, you need a pivot.

+1 Harris 6-9 swivel for shooting from the bench. But I'm still a newb. Had a Caldwell, seemed okay but bolt on the Harris and you will immediately notice it's the superior product.

I rock a couple Caldwell's swivel notched legs. I hate the lock ring sliding bipods as they never stay put. Shooting a pretty heavy varmint rig all day with lots of rounds knocks those legs around a bit. With the spring loaded notched legs I can quickly move up or down into the right elevation. Say what you want but I got 2 of the 6-9 pivoting Caldwell bipods for less than $70 from Midway. I think they are still under $40 when they go on sale these days. I've had mine on about 7363543752 different rifles and thousands of rounds through multiple varmint seasons, still going strong!

If you plan on using your bipod on multiple rifles, one with a QD for picatinny is nice. Then you just need one! I just happen to have one on sale in the parts forum.

Harris with notched legs or an atlas if you can afford it. The atlas is super nice.
