I "imported" two Miroku shotguns more than a few years ago while in Japan...outstanding quality and workmanship. Many bullets fired through them with zero issues.

Browning makes beautifully assembled lever guns, but a little more spendy than a Marlin.

Marlin's MicroGroove rifling is fine with fmj bullets, not with lead.

Sights are barely adequate for a .22 rifle, let alone something shooting bigger bullets.

If I were buying a lever gun today, Marlin would be last on my list, and then only if it were the non-pushbutton-safety model.

I have owned all but the Henry Big Bore. The only ones left are the Marlins.

My wife loves her .38/.357 and I love my .45. A great pair for a his and her set!

The 92 is arguably the strongest but the Marlin is stronger than the '73 or '66. The Marlins are easier to work on and make slick than the 92.

In the end, I just don't like the excessive (for me) drop at the heel found on the '66 or '73 and I like how easy the Marlin is to clean and work on.

OP, head over to Marlinowners and peruse their classifieds. You might find what you're looking for.

              I have the same situation.....

At this point my girlfriend and I have accumulated a number of lever guns.... She likes the R92 Rossi in .357 because it is "just her size!"..that theory worked out fine for the Carbine but not so well with the 12 g coach gun....

I am in the process of loading some reduced recoil loads for the 30-30. I guess that's one of the benefits of reloading....you can tailor the loads to suit the shooter....

                          Check out the new Mossberg 464 lever action. It's a 30-30 but I think they"ll be making a 357/38sp and a 44 mag within a year or 2

Got my winchester 73 in. 357 / 38 special about a year ago. Cost me $1375 (ouch) but it is gorgeous. 357 was so hard to find locally, so i bit the bullet and spent the coin.

If you haven't laid out the cash yet, you may want to consider purchasing them from Nate Jones. He's the Rossi 92 specialist and can give them an a action job before he sends them your way.
