    Lever action for lovers

Want to get a pair (his and hers) with one in 45LC for him and one in 357/38 for her ... we also already have matching handguns. Cute, huh? Mostly just 'casue I want to and for family fun plinking shoots - never underestimate the lever gun SHTF option ...

Looking at Marlin 1894, Henry Big Boy, Uberti 1866 Yellowboy (is this still legal in CA 13+1 tubular - carbine or short rifle are 10+1 tubular).

Any other options that come in both 45LC and 357/38?

So far I prefer the Marlins (I really dig my Marlin 1895) but might end up letting the wife choose.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

EDIT: Just found Winchester 1892 Deluxe Octagon and the Carbine models!

I think the rossi 92 also does what youre asking. not as nice as the winchesters. if you can swing those I say go for it.

45 LC is a really nice shooting caliber, boomy like a 45. Your wife should like it and the 38sp is really soft recoiling.

Big 5 sells the Rossi 92's for a fair price. They are decent guns.

Nice! 454 Casull ... maybe I need to rethink my plan here.

Those Rossi are some nice looking options.

Had a Rossi M92 blue in .357 and it was sweet. It is better made than a Winchester Model 94 that I have. They cost about a hundred dollars more than a Marlin. New Winchesters and the Uberti replicas though nice are almost a thousand dollars.

The Uberti rifles look really nice. I'd like an 1873 myself. You can get two Rossi's for the price of one of those however.

Damned it. I've always wanted a lever action. I told myself no more guns, but I started looking at those Rossis'. Now I want the 92 in stainless .357/.38 24 inch octagon bbl.

              Thanks Obama.

why not look at the new 1873 Winchesters seeing as how they have brought them back.

or possibly some on the Cimmaron/Uberti/Taylors 1873 as well.

sure they are expensive (always will be due to the difficulty in manufacturing) but hey you can't put a price on love

Figures. I'll take a look around. Fowler's usually has a pretty good stock on lever actions.

Good luck with Fowlers, they haven't had lever in 357/38 for a while now

Too bad Winchester outsourced the 1873 and they are now all made in Japan. I would imagine that it's a nice rifle but Winchester - Made in Japan has an odd ring to it.

Just spotted a stainless on gunbroker if you want to go that route

I've been thiking about a lever action in .3578 also. It would make a good a good addition to the gun safe and match up with the 3 .357's I have (2 DW's and 1 S&W).

+1 for the Rossi. The Remington Marlins are not getting rave reviews. Or look for a pre Remington marlin.
