Geezer optics

I am putting a Leupold 1.5-4X scope on my Marlin Guide Gun...it has Skinner sights on it but I am going with a scope.

Some of you guys here have seen my lever guns; they all have scopes except my 39A. And that will change soon enough. I just have to see what I'm aiming at.

Are the older, pre-safety Rossi's drilled and tapped under the rear sight? I have an older .45 Colt Rossi and also a newer one with the safety in .44 Mag. I would like to try a scout scope or red dot on one of them.
