    Those are all some beautiful guns fellas. Winchester, Marlin and who can forget the #1

                It's just the way the slots are. That's the way that rifles naturally sit.If I try to turn them right side up they are unbalanced and might fall out.

                  Awesome rack. I remember many of those types of racks built in junior high school woodshop back in the 70s.

                    Something a bit different - Marlin Model 62 in 30 Carbine



                    Scope mount is a Weaver swing out type and allows for use of the iron sights. Pretty sure I bought it as an excuse to reload the M1 cartridge.

                              I found it at a thrift store, for $15. I had to give it a fresh coat of varnish, but it really fits in with the room and the collection.

                              And now that you mention wood-shop projects, there is a "homemade" vibe to it. The wood looks to me to be Yellow Pine, but I'm no expert.
