I'm with you. The post-64 lever guns that were made in the early 70's, especially.

The big issue is the link, especially .357's. Top eject or Angle, no more OEM's exist and huge buck$ to fix the broken ones, if you can even find someone that does it any longer. And you are only back in the same boat after it is welded up and re-fit.

Second is the action. It is designed for rifle length cartridges. The 92 is far better for the shorty bullets. 94's in pistol rounds are clunky as hell.




I know quite a few out there love these guns. Standing by for my black eyes now....

I have two model 94 SRC's. Both were made in 1969. One is 3,201,XXXM and the other is 3,208,XXXM serial number guns...one is LNIB with the original box and one is LN/excellent condition without box. Since I have the B-92 I might as well look to sell them both.

You really think I should list them here instead of classifieds? Maybe both sub forums at same time?

Looks pretty good to me. I think showing some pics here is a good start. I wouldn't list them for sale on this sub forum but don't be suprised if you get some offers before you go to the classifieds...

Remember, you can always drop the price....increasing it, not so much

I agree...that B92 is smooth as silk. I'd love to get another ..as you can see with the model 94's in .44 mag, I'm a twofer kinda guy...one to shoot and enjoy one to collect. I also wouldn't mind a Browning B-92 in .357 mag but those are even harder to find.

I got into lever guns when I started going with small groups of friends camping on horseback on BLM/ USFS lands in the Sierra's and Sequoia's. I always carry a .44 mag pistol out into the woods/camping/hunting regardless and while on horseback stared carrying a model 94 in 30-30 in a scabbard on the horse. Then a little late I had an epiphany, after buying a number of cool older 30-30's, and decided to transition to a .44 mag lever action instead of the 30-30 to match the ammo of the pistol. I know the 30-30 has better ballistics out beyond 100 yrs than the .44 mag but under 100 yds out of a 20 in pipe, the .44 mag is comparable and in close in a defensive situation I think its superior given the bigger diameter, heavier bullet and the increased mag capacity of 10 versus the 30-30's 7 rounds.

I am a collector of guns and watches and typically only buy watches and guns with "full sets" boxes/manuals/ tags etc... and am so used to saying "LNIB" because its what I usually have and that just slipped out of habit this time.
