I remember Action Guns. I was sad when they went out of business. I don't recall buying a gun there but I picked up a lot of ammo and AR accessories.

I've heard Steve does great work on the Rossi line. Maybe it's time to slick up the action while it's there!

        Yes, it's worth it.

Are you talking about this Turners? https://www.turners.com/henry-repeat...carbin-1796140

They say "Temporarily Unavailable Online See Local Store to Backorder" I called Henry and was told that everything is backordered across the board. It might take months to deliver. Sportsman Warehouse has this priced at $899 which is pretty good. I might put in my order there. Just waiting to get my Rossi back. It should be Monday, then I will check that "MADE IN BRAZIL BY CBC" that Golfish was asking about.

No, I got the gun back, and just below the rear sight on the right side, it says "BRAZTECH, L.C. MIAMI, FL, MADE IN BRAZIL BY TAURUS"

So does that have any significance?

Braztech was the importer prior to the current importer. The current importer in my experience doesn't want to have anything to do with Braztech guns even though they were made by Rossi/Taurus.

My Braztech imported 92 broke one of the pins that interfaces between the lever and one of the locking blocks. When I called the current importer they declined to handle it under warranty due to the Braztech status. They did sell me the pins though which was fine with me. They also referred me to Steve's for Rossi 92 parts. They said some changes had been made in componentry between the Braztech imports and the current imports and they only handled warranty on current guns.

Not really. CBC started making them for Braztech a few years ago. Soms people think they make a better gun. I've bought 2 of them and can say with confidence that they make the same old junk.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Gun developed a malfunction; Op sent the gun to the manufacturer who informed him in no uncertain terms that the receiver was out of spec. They offered the OP a remedy. OP asked the the gun to be returned. It is now junk and practically worthless other than scap metal. Op can go after Rossi if he thinks Rossi should offer better.

OP has the right to refuse the remedy and seek another one except he has no right to sell or otherwise transfer that gun to anyone else without disclosing the history and even then, knowing the problem (even if not in detail but knowing it is out of spec) if he doesn't get in writing an acknowledgment that the next owner is aware of the manufacturer's decision and determination, is liable for anything that happens as a result.

This reeks in that Rossi isn't relacing the gun at no cost but what would be far worse is the OP knowing the general problem and what it means (and out of spec gun is unsafe) sells or transfers the gun to someone else and even with a parts fix it malfunctions and injures someone - or worse. The history of that gun will be easy to determine, and the OP will be liable and anyone who runs to a lawyer will own OP's house, income, all personal property and retirement - IMO NOT being a lawyer and NOT offering legal advice.

How would any of you feel about someone selling you a car with brakes that were out of spec and known to the seller after which you or someone in your family got killed because the brakes failed on the way home after the purchase? How is this any different? Oh yeah, it because GUNS, right? Please don't start with having the brakes checked out because most people might look at the pads, do a road test with a brake check and call it good until the next service. Even then it doesn't matter because the seller knew about the problem and that can be proven in this case, someone will contact Rossi because they will be named, again, my opinion.

We all talk about rights and responsibilities until there is some way out when it affects someone personally and then it's who cares, work around, don't bother with integrity, screw the other guy because they won't know etc.

                Shameful.

What Rossi did was bad and inexcusable, but they told the OP the gun was out of spec. End of that story. It doesn't matter that the remedy they offered wasn't acceptable, that doesn't excuse anyone from then selling or otherwise transferring that gun to someone else without disclosing the problem. Anyone who accepts that gun knowing the problem exists joins in with the responsibility and liability.

The OP's gun is now worthless unless he knows with absolute certainty why the gun is out of spec and exactly all parts which are out of spec. Rossi refuses to tell the OP exactly what is wrong, they don't have to because they offered a remedy. If the remedy is unacceptable then the OP has other avenues for recourse.

You might scoff at this and think it's no big deal except what if you happened to end up with that gun and it blows up and your kid gets hurt because they were shooting it? What would you say then, time to go after Rossi? Good luck because Rossi is going to come back and tell you sorry, the gun was determined to be out of spec and the person that sold it to you knew it. Then the paper trail will be uncovered and everyone down the line - including the OP will have new names - defendant #.

This isn't a trivial matter and if anyone says oh, just replace some parts, are they also willing to accept the responsibility and liability if something goes horribly wrong?

If the OP sends the gun to a gunsmith and that gunsmith gives it a clean bill of health then that gunsmth also accepts the liability for saying so. No problem there. After that OP could do whatever with it but IMO, I guarantee you that if subsequently that gun malfunctions and someone is hurt, who thinks the OP isn't going to point fingers at the gunsmith?

Get clean on this. If the remedy offered by Rossi wasn't acceptable then go after Rossi. If OP sells that gun and someone is injured using it you bet they are going after the OP.

For those offering to sell the OP some part. Are you going to personally accept responsibility and liability that the gun is ok to shoot with just the part replacement? I call BS and no doubt you have some limit of liability to only the part you sell and not anything else.

If I were the OP I would either go back to Rossi and seek a better and acceptable remedy or force the issue. Failing that the gun becomes a wall hanger or scrap metal and if sold or transferred, accompanied by a written disclosure. Anything less is a disgusting lack of integrity and screwing someone else because you got screwed by someone else.

Had the OP just sourced a replacement part and not sent the gun to Rossi then the OP could claim ignorance if something ever goes wrong, they did a DIY repair, happens all the time. They gave up that defense when they sent it to Rossi because now, they know and so does the whole world if something happens and runs a search.

Sorry OP, you got the wrong end of the stick but selling that gun without written disclosure is plain wrong, using it with a parts replacement is also wrong and if someone gets hurt, that is 100% on you.

None of this is legal advice, just my opinion. And no, I'm not accusing the OP of anything, I'm presenting an opinion and what I think about it for different scenarios. If you take it as something else, thats on you.

Seems their stock flew off the shelf. I found my 20" steel side gate on Gunbroker. I saw Martin Redding in Culver City had 3 of them listed for sale. I called them and drove up there and bought the best of the three. Paid slightly over list but it was worth it as I had 3 to pick from. If you find one listed there for sale there it's easier if the dealer is already in California.

SS, this rambling statement of yours has kinda gnawed at me in a couple different ways.
I know your intent was to present a positive & responsible disposition of the broken weapon, but overtly paranoid.
First off, I jumped at the possibility of acquiring said Rossi 92. I have a NIB .357 M92 to compare it with. The OP posted that it was broken and what the manufacturer said regarding its condition and non-repairability, so that would cover your need for disclosure.

From the "tone" of your post, you must not be a milsurp or C&R kinda guy. Those weapons often come in various states of disarray (which can be why they're often cheap), an SKS with poor sear engagement, stuck/misassembled bolts, springs miss installed, any number of potential malfunctions in the waiting. Some repairs are a simple fix, some are expensive, some stay as parts.

To my knowledge there has never been a catastrophic .357 Rossi M92 receiver failure, but more than a few broken ejectors. Where it broke, is where they break, at the thinnest area of the ejector shaft, at the collar.

I picked this one up for "parts".
Nice gun, kinda rare/scarce with a 20 inch octagon barrel (discontinued), case-hardened receiver, cresant butt plate, nose cap and tang.
The Rossi service deal was a little strange. They told the OP that frame was "out of spec" but didn't say how or what.
They returned it in parts but included a new ejector and collar, with no documentation of the part being sent or work performed (work order).
When I sent my Rossi .357 revolver to have a broken firing pin replaced about 5 years ago, Rossi sent the broken FP back and a WO with "no charge" on the invoice. The OP only got an email statement that they couldn't/wouldn't repair the weapon. It concerned him enough to unload it. I knew the whole story from Rossi.

I'm guessing that that's the best the service guys could do to help a guy out, in lieu of current management policy regarding Braztech built stuff. No repair or warranty honored.

Because the FFL we were going to use, had no means to transfer just the receiver (system wouldn't let him add caliber), I put it back together and it seems to work fine. I used my other .357 Rossi lever (that happens to be only a couple thousand numbers away from the "parts" rifle), and swapped bolts, levers, and locking blocks, and it didn't "seem" to have any difference in play. Didn't get out the feeler gages or calipers just because of the robust nature of the design.

Only thing I can think of is headspace. Haven't checked with a gage yet, but it cycles rounds fine. No live fire until I check headspace.
To me, it seems like Rossi just didn't want to fix a Braztech gun.

I've bought dozens of vehicles with bad brakes, stuck valves, couple flying machine with issues, bunches of "malfunctioning" guns. I attempt to fix stuff, not fear it. Anyone else with broken stuff for dirt, I'm your man. PAX

Did the frame stretch to out of spec? They won’t divulge the reason for being out of spec?
