Rossi .357 Lever -- problem

My Rossi .357 revolver had a broken firing pin as well. Bought the gun like that at the first Lodi show in decades. Was NIB. Sent it to Rossi and the fixed it for free. PAX

A lot of people think that the new manufacturer (CDC) is building a much better gun. I was one of them for a minute until I received my second CDC gun. They both shoot really well but they both had problems. The same old problems that the Braztech guns had.



IMO, the R92s have wonderful bluing, Just beautiful finish. If they had better wood and fixed the same old problems that they have had for years then these guns would be awesome

Some of your situation is messy but the explanation of the frame being out of spec and unrepairable isn't that crazy. If the frame is indeed out of spec, replacing the extractor would accomplish nothing as they believe it will break again or worse. Its a bummer of a situation but you maybe should have taken their deal...

I just did not want to buy another Rossi. Even with their discount it would be about $510. I think if I get another lever it will be a Henry. I have the Henry Golden Boy 22 mag, which I like, and maybe the Henry Big Boy Carbine in .357/38 would be a good choice. I like the way it looks. Its more pricey than a Rossi though, but probably worth it.

My bet is we'll be lucky to see them for $900, but I think they are going to be over $1000, if they start releasing them really soon. If it takes another year or two, who knows where inflation is going to take the price

Can't blame you there. I never was impressed enough with a Rossi to get one and your experience kind of puts the nail in the coffin for me.

I want a Marlin in .41 mag as well. Been watching them on GB and they've been going for roughly $1630 to almost $2000. I may just have to wait and see what Ruger does or see if Henry comes out with a side gate version.

I would get the replacement from Steve or get a Winchester 92 ejector from homestead.com, either one is going to have to be fitted to your gun.

I think I paid $325 for my Marlin 41 mag but it was 20 years ago.
It was expensive at the time compared to 30-30's that were fetching $200.

(you know this already, but) a .41 Magnum Marlin 1894 in whatever flavor (FG, S, etc) is "rarer than an honest politician", according to John Taffin.

My FG was made in 2005, was NOS when I discovered it on GB four years ago and where I immediately, before he got any bids, emailed the seller for his "buy it now" price. I did had to ask him twice. Or was that three times. Was that with tears in my eyes? that I begged him... I digress.
