Do you guys do any lapping on the rings?

Bedding the scope base to eliminate twisting almost eliminates the need for lapping these days as good rings are made so square that the only reason to lap is that the scope base is distorted by a poor installation job.

I love these rings. The inserts allow you to cant the scope from 0 to 40 MOA. They can be a little fiddly to setup initially, but once that's done they're solid.

I bought a pair of Leupold steel rings. They are good quality; nicely made and finished.

They did require some lapping, but nothing major. A friend helped me with that.

I recommend lapping. At least in my case the lapping smoothed out some minor rough spots and created a much better fit onto the scope tube (also a Leupold VX3).

One further note, be sure to torque the mounting screws as indicated in the instructions. For my rings, the sequence was stated in the instructions.

I recommend Vortex Precision matches rings. Made by Seekins.

30mm tube and .97" height should work. Don't go cheap on rings.

I prefer the ARC rings. Optics will not cant when torquing rings.

I agree, simple one bolt for each ring. Also the optic doesn't cant when torquing to value. The Vortex/Seekins rings did this. Although, I'm sure I did something wrong haha.

Also check out their newer M-Brace rings and Mount. It's a bit wider. Looks real nice!

Just got my Vortex Pst Gen II 5-25. I assumed it would come with rings but I guess not. Would you recommend using same brand scope rings for mounting?

The scope manufacturers have no idea what type of set up the purchaser has.
We have a large range of scope rings to choose from.
