Scope Rings

Just got my Vortex Pst Gen II 5-25. I assumed it would come with rings but I guess not. Would you recommend using same brand scope rings for mounting?

Vortex Pro rings are made by Seekins. Just get something of right tube size and right height

Plenty of good and cheaper options for 30 mm tube

Scope rings.come in various heights.
Each mfg will have different heights .
You need to set.the.scope on the rifle with.the front lens cap on.
I usually want a .200 gap between the barrel and lens cap.
Then determine scope base to bottom of scope tube.
And scope base to center of scope ring.

Do not buy a.scope.ring that does not give you measurements.

Don't go cheap on scope rings and scope base. You can have a great rifle scope , but if it is pairing with poorly made rings and base you will have problems maintaining zero.

You can email vortex customer service for recommendations on scope rings. Those guys are excellent. Tell them which rifle you plan to mount the scope and ask them to recommend a scope ring height.

30mm tube and .97" height should work. Don't go cheap on rings.

I prefer the ARC rings. Optics will not cant when torquing rings.

Leupold, Warne and even the better Weavers are just fine. Burris, Talley etc as well. You don’t need to spend bank for quality rings.

I’ve always ran leupold and vortex rings on my guns. If you go down the Leupold route I’d go with the PRW2’s, Backcountry’s or Mark 4’s. If you go down the Vortex rite go with the pro precision’s.

I have leupold rings and bases on all my rifles and they have been great

I use Warne rings. Sturdy steel rings for a fair price. I use the quick release ones.

I mounted Leupold scopes and rings on my rifles. They work for me.

I prefer the one piece mounts if they fit. No alignment issues between the front and rear ring. Talley makes a nice one for the Henry Big Boy. Aero Precision makes a nice one for AR's.
