Lightweight Chasis Hunting Rifles

I'll pick the RPR. Lol JK. The RPR isn't a light weight hunting rifle. I'll go with the MPR or something that isn't tacticool. You don't need a chassis system for a hunting rifle.

It's a Christensen Arms MPP. Technically it's a pistol, but it's light and mighty compact.

... The islands where we hunt are loaded with big bears, that is why I opted for the bigger 30 cal. Not that a .308 wouldn’t provide good bear protection, I just like the idea of having a magnum that can push a heavier pill if I wanted.

Carrying a long rifle case through the airport is also a pain. My thoughts on a folder is that I could go with a shorter case to transport without having to disassemble the rifle.

Why not a Blaser in .300 WM or .300 RUM? A 200 grain bullet @3,150 will take care of any bear and Blaser does have detachable barrels so one can use a case like Pelican V700 break down case for transport.

The composite stock versions would be good in AK and not as pricey as wood versions. Also, later on all you would need is the 6.5CM barrel and a bolt head for the new caliber.

Most of the ones I've seen are not plain either. They have some engraving or other fancy stuff. Saw a rifle and three barrels, I think, at a local gun show. $8k used.

The plain composite ones start at $3,500, any caliber.

As you add barrels then the individual cost of each caliber goes down of course. Bolt heads updated only when one switches from small, to medium to magnum calibers.

I’ve had some exposure to Blaser rifles; from the models I’ve shot and examined, the quality is excellent. Not inexpensive, but good tools seldom are.

One of the most important benefits of a Blaser is it's straight pull. The downside is Blaser's are a bit heavy.

If you have the cash to blow, I'd recommend the Q Fix rifles. Very cool

For that kinda money I’d take the action out of the stock for travel and invest in a nice case.
