Yes 419 makes a 20moa rail for twice the price of a set of Talleys, and then you still would need rings. A 20moa base isnt really what you want for most hunting rifles though.

I have always used Leupold rings and bases for my scopes and have never been disappointed. Not sure about the dovetail slots on the OP's receiver, but my Tikka T3 Lite sports the Leupold rings/mounts. My rifle is chambered for 30-06 though, so maybe 300 Win Mag is to stout a recoil?

Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!

Vortex Pro rings are nice for around $60. Seekins rings are also great for about double the price. Both were dead on aligned with no lapping needed.

Factory has been fine on mine. To each his own.

I ran the factory rings for quite some time. Then the gun stopped shooting so well. I gave it a good look over and one of the screws holding on the rear mount was cracked. I did a hack job trying to get it out (half the head had basically cracked off and I didn't have any good extractors) and so just swapped for a DNZ. The gun shot just fine after that.

I think the factory rings are fine, but the screws are (were anyway) suspect.

For a 40mm scope are you running medium rings on a T3?

I am using a mountain tac base with recoil lug and Leopold qrw2 rings holding a vx5 hd on a Tikka t3 lite.

Low rings would be fine unless you just wanted the medium rings. Low rings will fit a 42 mm objective lens with a bit of room.
