Good point. My Son is 19 and he's shot the Henry in 308 and his AR308 (trying to stay with .308 for now). I need to add some bolt guns to the herd. Maybe get a .243 for my grandson/s to shoot.

    Thanks again to all

Last week I won an A Bolt II .308 from MDF.

It’s being shipped from the East coast to my FFL. When it arrives I’ll post a review.

I have a 20+ y.o. A Bolt Stainless Stalker in .30-06 which is a tackdriver and has been my main bolt gun. Even adjusted to the lowest pull weight I found the trigger heavy, so I put in the Rifle Basix spring and it is now perfect for a hunting rifle: https://riflebasix.com/product/brown...pring-brn-spr/

Golfish: if you are set on a Browning Bolt gun I'd look on Gunbroker for a

Browning FN Safari Grade gun. They are far superior to anything currently made.

There are two in .30-06 on the board right now. One at $995 and one at $1795.

The $995 one would be fine if the stock was refinished and it already has a B&L 3x9 scope on it. No salt wood.

The $1795 one has scope rings mounted and is Excellent Condition.

It looks like you want a .308 which come up from time to time, if you're not in a hurry, you might look at other big gun sites and see if you could find one in .308 with low miles.

          Just a thought.

I recently found a good deal here in the classifieds on a very ‘low mileage’ .308 (Black Synthetic stock), with Talley rings, Vortex Diamondback scope, hard case, & a factory new box of 130gr Barnes TTSX. Had it at the range on Sunday, shooting 1/2 MOA groups. The X-Bolts really are well made rifles.

There was one in the classifieds I was looking at, but went with another. Don’t know this seller, or if still available, but maybe worth looking into.
