I like the model 60 over the 10/22. Those Ruger mags are a PITA..

Ruger has made lever guns in the past. The model 96 was available in 22 LR and 44 Mag. Similar to the Winchester 88.

I owned one of the 22's for a while. It was a nice gun. I would like to have one in 44 mag.

Remlin just spent five years getting their nightmare quality fixed and massively invested in improved tooling.

Ruger got all that for a song. It would make zero sense to toss it out and start over. They weren't just buying the brand name.

agreed, They finally were making good stuff Ruger got a steal and if they play it right it will be easy to get up and running making quality guns again. If they try to cut costs more then we could see problems.

Unless they have someone on the inside telling them this, they don't. BUT it is a very reasonable conclusion given Ruger's business model for using casting vs forging.

I'm happy that Marlin is no longer in the hands of Remington but sadly with Ruger now making them they are going to be twice the cost to the customer.

I'm not saying Ruger doesn't put good firearms as I am a fan of them, but their prices are over the top IMHO. We shall see. I would like to have a couple more 336's in the safe.

lol, I should know that. I've been looking at em for years.
I was thinking tube fed side loader western style. Didn't even think about the Ruger guns

Can they compete with Henry? I'd like to give lever actions another try after not being so impressed with a Rossi 92 a while back. Now that Henry has a side gate .357 I was looking hard at them but I like Ruger and it might be wise to wait and see what they come up with.

I heard that RUGER when they start making the MARLINS again, they will start with the LEVERS rifles first, then the 60's.

Firing pin problems as well. They're notorious for breaking.

I...am probably one of the few people around who have a small drawer full of spare firing pins to go with my M96/22.
