I heard that RUGER when they start making the MARLINS again, they will start with the LEVERS rifles first, then the 60's.

That would make sense since the levers help fill their lineup with something that they don't presently have while the model 60 is just a lower cost competitor to their 10-22.

Too many parts. Ruger won't produce any Marlins until they revamp the entire engineering and manufacturing process to fit into their cast/molded parts and assembly line business model.

And yet Ruger's CEO said they will have lever guns late this year.
I would bet that Ruger is more interested in getting the manufacturing line up and running with the existing tooling.

Should they decide to redesign, it will be at a later date.

Remlin just spent five years getting their nightmare quality fixed and massively invested in improved tooling.

Ruger got all that for a song. It would make zero sense to toss it out and start over. They weren't just buying the brand name.

Lawyers were the main issue with Remingtons demise. Of course the anti gun culture added to the mix.

Yes Bill Ruger got a deal. Now his genius will be required to put it all back together and integrate the platforms.

And sadly Ruger is in the hands of the bean counters. Always looking to save 1/100th of a cent on anything. They re-engineered the Red Label shotgun to make it "easier" (translation = cheaper) to build. After it was on the market for 3 months they ended production and pulled it off the market because it was such a POS. They had to recall the entire production of the "new and improved" MKIV to fix a problem with those.

I love Ruger, always have. But never underestimate the ability of bean counters and engineers to screw up.

I see it in my work every single day.
