Bergara B-14 accuracy issues

I bought a B-14 Ridge last year and when I took it to the range, my groups started opening up considerably with every shot. Imagine my surprise when I picked up the rifle only to have the barreled action rock forward in the stock. Apparently, not torquing the action screws to spec from the factory seems to be a standard option with Bergara. I thought I was the only one.
After tightening to spec with some blue Loctite, things improved dramatically, as you would imagine.
Mine is also chambered in 6.5, and I got my best groups with Federal 120 grain OTM. For hunting ammo, my rifle likes Barnes TTSX over Hornady GMX.Comment

Most of us have been down this road, don't feel bad. My Weatherby Vanguard S2 in 25-06. First range trip 3-5 inch groups......found the action screws barely tight. Second range trip better groups but they started opening up........loose scope ring screws after correctly torqu'ing them with a wheeler wrench. I now do the "ground up" approach. Get a rifle home, torque the action screws correctly, check the scope base for correct torque, mount the scope with the wheeler level and a dot of blue loctite along with the wheeler wrench. Never an issue again.NRA life member

That's what you get for buying a Spanish made rifle
But seriously I hope you get it worked out. Barrel break in is not a culprit cuz you just shoot em.

It also helps to find what ammo your barrel likes.
I have a Ruger Precision Rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor that shoots poorly with anything in the 140 gr range. It much prefers 120 gr bullets, which is unfortunate for shooting long distance."Show me a young conservative and I'll show you a man without a heart.
