ince the new Dark Series Marlins are so scarce, I decided to make my own.

Re: stocks. Some ideas to consider.

Champion made a 336 synthetic stock set. If you search ebay, etc you may be able to dig one up. ( I have one in storage somewhere; it's not for sale. )

For a couple of months I've had a hankering for a short levergun, Ive kicked around the idea
of a .357, .44, 30-30, .35, or 45-70. I let fate take its course and I happened upon a used Glenfield Marlin 30A in 30-30win and decided to make a nice "all around" rifle capable of dealing with any sub 250lb, sub 200 yard problem which should arise. Light enough to be carried all day, and handy enough to want to be carried.
I had the barrel and mag tube chopped to 16.5" and recrowned. Added XS sight systems ghostrings and rail. I plan to add an Aimpoint Micro H1. I added a recoil pad and Bondo stippled the grip and forearm. Finally i Duracoated the metal in Matte Black and the stocks in Woodland Tan.
I'm happy with the results, Here's a few pics.
