While the dark looks tactical I am really not impressed with that flat black Parkerized finish.

That has always been a turn off for me on non-military arms. Gorgeous 336 btw!

I've noticed that older firearms design leads to a rifle that is balanced. Usually slim and not many if any "Things that stick out and poke you in the back or side."

In short. very easy to carry by hand or sling.

Tactical stuff seems to always fatten a rifle. Throw off the balance and poke you when you try to carry it with a sling and be unbalanced when carried one handed.

I like the older thought process better.
